About Dicla Farm & Seed (Pty) Ltd
In 1993, Mr. Dirk Tijssen, designed and manufactured tunnels to grow vegetables for himself. This turned out to be a success and he soon had 18 tunnels producing flowers and vegetables.
About a year later, Rijk Zwaan Seeds, a seed company based in the Netherlands, appointed Mr Tijssen sole distributor of vegetable seeds. Mr Tijssen started manufacturing tunnels for customers in his area at the same time.
In 2009 Dicla Farm and Seed cc and Tijbros Agricultural Machinery cc merged, forming Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd. Over the years the company added to the range of services and products they supply. Today Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd supplies tunnels, net house structures, irrigation equipment, greenhouse plastic, shadenet, seedlings, tractors, agricultural implements, forklifts and earthmoving equipment. We also have an extensive after sales department with a spare parts division and a well-equipped workshop where repairs and services are done.
Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd is currently a large supplier to Government Departments throughout South Africa, i.e. Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Rural Development and Department of Social Development to name a few. We are proud importers of various brands such as Fieldking, Agromaster and Faresin. We are also dealers of well-known brands such as Massey Ferguson, New Holland, Kubota, Challenger, SEM, Polaris and Ausa.
Dicla is also involved in training through its sister company, Dicla Training and Farming cc.
In January 2011 Mr. Johan Tijssen, son of Mr. Dirk Tijssen took over from his father and is running Dicla Farm and Seed (Pty) Ltd as Managing Director. He is following in his father’s footsteps and building on his strong foundation and successes, leading the company on a road of continuous growth and improvement.
